Those beautiful blue, purple, red and pink little sweet fruits that nature has been so generous to gift us! Berries are not only appealing to the eye, but they are also delicious and super good for us. They offer a large array of nutrients that we require for optimal health and natural antioxidants that can help us stabilize free radicals in our bodies (which come as a natural byproduct of our metabolism) – and since antioxidants are not all equal, and come in different types, it is a good idea to consume a good variety of fruits and vegetables that contain these to get a good mix in. Berries are readily available to us at most, if not all, grocery stores…so take advantage of this and get your hands on a few berry varieties to snack on every day. I typically keep my house stocked with blueberries, blackberries and strawberries (since those are our personal favorites), but you can get your hands on other types of berries as well, such as raspberries, boysenberries, huckleberries, cranberries, goji berries, and the list goes on and on. There are so many to choose from. How blessed are we? J Today, I want to share with you a very simple recipe that uses two types of berries: blueberries and strawberries. This Very Berry Banana Healthy Bowl will keep you cool, full, nourished and oh-so satisfied. It is an all-natural and organic “dessert” that you can have as a snack at any given point in time…it carries nothing but fruits and other raw ingredients that your body will quickly absorb and digest.
